Dr Sifiso M. Nkambule, NEF ambassador of Eswatini, is a Physics Lecturer at the University of Eswatini. His interest in Science has made him establish a community outreach program, named “The Physics Show”.
The Kingdom of Eswatini is celebrating 50 years of independence in 2018. This also coincide with the head of state, his majesty King Mswati III turning 50 years. As a result, the nation is observing a 50/50 celebration. The country seeks to boost socio-economic development through research and innovation and attain first world status in the year 2022. To achieve its goals, the Ministry of Information, communication and Technology provides leadership, an enabling environment and resources for science,technology and innovation. The research and learning agenda in Eswatini are driven mainly by the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), as it is the most research-intensive institution in the country. The Faculty of Science and Engineering at UNESWA is the hub for science outreach programmes nationally and most of the Science, Technology,Engineering and Mathematics(STEM) professionals in the country are UNESWA alumni.
